Супер Аудио Компакт Диск (Super Audio CD или SACD) появился в сентябре 1999 года, как идеальный цифровой звукоовой формат для сохранения уникального звукового наследия человека. Из профессионального стандарта он постепенно превращается в общедоступный формат, открывающий нам все тонкости звука в его многоканальном выражении. В магазинах появляются диски и аппаратура для прослушивания SACD. Форма и размер SACD совпадает с обычным компакт диском (CD), цвет рабочей поверхности стал золотистым. Изобретателями SACD, как и CD стали фирмы SONY и PHILIPS, которые стремяться сделать из этого формата новый звуковой стандарт.

Depeche Mode 5.1 Re-masters released on the 3rd of April 2006

Depeche Mode and Mute Records are proud to announce the first release in a series that will see the band's entire album catalogue digitally re-mastered and re-mixed in 5.1 surround sound.

'Music for the Masses' and 'Violator' will be released on the 3rd of April 2006.

Each deluxe double disc collector's edition contains the re-mastered stereo album, the new surround mix, all the B-sides from the singles and a specially commissioned 30 minute short film featuring new interviews with band members detailing that period of Depeche Mode's 25 year career. The re-designed 16 page booklet includes original LP artwork, new photos, lyrics and sleeve notes by Daniel Miller.

Although re-mixed by Kevin Paul, Alan is credited as Executive Producer on both upcoming releases; a role which included advising on mixes and providing comments and feedback during the re-mastering process.

The remaining albums recorded with Alan, 'Construction Time Again', 'Some Great Reward', 'Black Celebration' and 'Songs of Faith and Devotion' will be released later this year.

5 years after Alan Wilder's last solo album, the highly acclaimed "Liquid" CD released under the Recoil moniker in March 2000, the former Depeche Mode member has confirmed to Side-Line that he will start up his studiowork again this year. The very last material by the hand of Alan Wilder was the additional production on Paul Kendall’s "Capture" album (namely on the track "Coma Idyllique") out on 0101 records under the name of The Digital Intervention. As the last interview with Alan Wilder in March 2004 shows, Wilder - who is responsible for the captivating sound on a string of Depeche Mode hits - has been enjoying the past few years spending time with his family and taking a break from the music business. Wilder: "I've been enjoying all the things I never seemed to have time for when I was in the studio. They include travelling, re-kindling relationships with other members of the Wilder family, spending time with my kids and helping with their upbringing, spending time with Hep and taking her out occasionally, building a new glass courtyard, entertaining friends, playing tennis, walking, watching cricket, decorating, and drinking Campari while enjoying the best English summer we've had for a century." Wilder plans to start work again this autumn. The Recoil website Shunt will feature information regarding forthcoming releases etc on due time. In the meantime, Dave Gahan confirmed colleagues from D-Side that Alan Wilder wants to rework several songs from Depeche Mode, in particular titles from "Songs of faith and devotion" and "Violator", in the light of new technology such as suround sound and 5.1 mix sound. It adds up to what we reported a few months ago, namingly that Mute has plans to reissue the band's back catalogue with "101" being a first test.

Though maintaining a low profile, Alan hasn't disappeared completely from the music radar; in 2004 he provided the additional production on Paul Kendall’s "Capture" album and in 2005 he reworked several songs from Depeche Mode back catalogue. Сейчас на дворе сентябрь 2006 года и после длительного периода вне музыкального бизнеса я решил наконец вернуться в студию и где-то в районе октября 2005 года я начал работу над новым альбомом Recoil.

Первая пара месяцев ушла на то, чтобы я освежил свои знания технологий, изучил новинки, обновил свое оборудование, т.к. у меня был довольно длительный перерыв и технологии за это время ушли вперед. И только где-то в январе этого года я приступил к записи первого материала в студии. Где-то полгода ушло на пре-программинг, эксперименты и выработку идей. Также я пытался найти вокалистов для своей записи. Где-то к апрелю у меня уже было 6, 7 или 8 треков, которые все еще были в зачаточном состоянии, но уже поверхностно вырисовывалась картина всей пластинки и ее настроение и поэтому я начал искать вокалистов. И я нашел очень и очень интересного исполнителя из Остина, штат Техас (США).

В мае вместе с Полом Кенделом (Paul Kendall) и моей женой (Hepzibah Sessa), которая также является и моим помощником, мы поехали в Техас и провели там неделю, записывая найденного мной блюзового исполнителя. И привезли обратно очень много хорошего материала. По возвращении мы засели в студию и начали компилировать привезенные записи вокала. А после этого мы подошли к той стадии, когда стали готовы к сведению альбома. И вот сейчас, конец сентября, сведение альбома находится на самой ранней стадии. И я все еще хочу найти еще одного вокалиста на альбоме, а точнее вокалистку, чей голос должен сбалансировать мужские вокальные партии. Я надеюсь, что процесс сведения альбома займет у нас где-то 3 месяца, т.е продлится примерно вплоть до Рождества. А выход альбома я планирую где-то в конце весны начале лета будущего 2007 года. Названия у альбома пока нет и у нас еще достаточно работы, которую необходимо проделать, например, оформление пластинки и т.п.

Кроме того, я принимал участие в работе по пересведению старых записей Depeche Mode в формат 5.1. Мое участие в этом проекте было в качестве Исполнительного продюсера. Я присутствовал в студии, слушал и давал свои советы и комментарии при пересведении старого материала, т.к. я в свое время прикладывал руку к нему. Также были сняты несколько небольших фильмов, которые вошли в эти переиздания. Некоторые из этих переизданий уже выпущены.

Сайт Recoil (recoil.co.uk) будет переделан и запущен в ближайшее время и будет информировать вас о новом альбоме, а также расскажет чего ожидать от новой пластинки.
